Saturday on The Fremont Street Experience

Ok, before I tackle any assignment, I always feel the need to be energized.  So since we are downtown and parking at the Golden Gate, we headed right in to the deli for their world famous $1.99 shrimp cocktail.  It used to be 99 cents, but even at this price, it’s still a deal worth having. Cold water shrimp in a secret sauce served in a glass sundae dish.  Yea, twist my arm.

For those keeping track… this Saturday was the first 106 degree Saturday of the year.  In a week, that will seem cool to us… Once its over 100, it stays there for awhile…

It was also time for the the 7th Annual Vegas Classic Cruise.  As always, this event features some of the finest show quality classic and custom cars from Las Vegas, California and beyond.

Up to to 200 intricately restored and beautifully maintained pre-1972 classic cars lined the Fremont Street Experience.  Now some people go for the heavy metal:  the Corvettes, the Mustangs and the Cudda’s.  Me, I love the quirky cars of the bygone days.  Like this little 1960 Nash… The true original “mini”.  Or the Vegas station wagon.  Can’t believe people actually saved one of those things. It was great fun.

And what would a Vegas event be without the ladies.  Here they are trying for that “pinup” or “flapper girl” look.  What do you think???
