NASCAR comes to Vegas

Okay, let the redneck jokes begin.  The first week in December is usually reserved for the folks in Stetson hats and Wrangler jeans watching bucking horses, until now.  Now we can add NASCAR jackets and revved up race cars to the mix.

First we have the annual National Finals Rodeo that takes over Las Vegas December 3 to12 this year.  Ten days of pure cowboy thrills.  Now we will have the NASCAR season ending awards banquet.  Normally a five day event held in New York City.

The convention people here chipped in $1 million to bring the driver filled event to Las Vegas.  They are moving it from New York, where it’s a little more expensive and a lot colder at that time of year.  Plus we like it when they drive down the Strip, versus Manhattan that banned the practice because it upset the locals!!
