A New Year will start with some new names on the strip and downtown. Not new places, just new names.
The name game starts with the Las Vegas Hilton. Not being very creative in the re-branding, the team that lost the franchise is changing the iconic resort’s name to the Las Vegas Hotel, starting January 3.
- By spring, the Fitzgeralds in Downtown will be called something else as the new owners of the old joint spruce it up.
- The Imperial Palace will be changed to another name by June as their lease on the name expires. No new name has been announced.
- The darkened Lady Luck may finally becoming back to life. We are seeing workers inside and out. They also removed the name and announced the new name will be “The Downtown Grand” when its scheduled opening in spring of 2012
