Unless our governor has another fit, and everything else stays as is, our new state of the art, 65,000 seats domed stadium should be ready to open to the world on time! The official name is Allegiant Stadium. For the stadium main sponsor, Allegiant Airlines.

The man chosen to break the seal off the doors is the one, the only, Garth Brooks on Saturday, August 22.  Tickets for that show sold out in under 75 minutes!

The first sporting event will be the Las Vegas Raiders debuting in a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on August 27. The first game to be played by the University of Nevada Rebels, the original reason we built a domed stadium was for the college team, they kickoff against the University of California Golden Bears on August 29..

Monday Night Football

When you are the new kid on the block with a shiny new stadium, the league bosses want to show you off in Grand Style.  So the NFL decided that the first “real” game for the Raiders in the Allegiant Stadium should be on the always popular Monday Night Football broadcast.  For those honors, they chose the always popular team to beat, the New Orleans Saints on September 21!
