Yes!! My Christmas is about to happen. The annual show of all Vegas shows hits town on Thursday. The 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) opens and I will be there!! Normally about 140,000 trade people fill Las Vegas up for four days of shows, speeches and demonstrations on all things consumer electronics. Its a giant geek fest for those who buy, sell, market or work with Consumer Electronics. And today, that means a lot of people.
This is where they let us peek into the working world of all the manufacturers, builders and planners of electronic things…. We get to play with the new toys and gadgets coming out. Most of which you won’t see until next Christmas and beyond. Seriously beyond; Like Star Trek beyond. Some of this stuff is pretty darn scary until you see the big picture of how it all will work and why. Even than it can kind of scare you on how we are computer dependent.
When you see that you can tell your office computer to please remind the stove at home to turn on 45 minutes before you arrive; That your car will send you a text message reminding you that its below freezing outside, could you please add some antifreeze to the radiator before you get in it and while you are at it, the left rear tire is 5 pounds over inflated; It all kind of freaks the average person out.
The show is closed to the general public, open to members of the trade and select media. Along side of this geek fest is the annual porn convention. But that’s another post.
I will be bringing you some updates as I find them or when I see things that really make me go “WOW, this is amazing…” You will read about it here.
